Please observe the following when using Walby: Walby is a place where everyone is welcome, can feel comfortable and is respected. To keep it that way, we have basic rules that must be followed by all users. These guidelines reflect our own values and are the basis for a positive, appreciative and safe community.

Publication of personal data

Walby wants to be a transparent community. It is therefore important to us that users do not hide behind anonymity. It is therefore best to use a clear name and not write anything that you cannot personally identify yourself with.

The disclosure or publication of information that can be used to identify private individuals is prohibited. Every user has a right to privacy; this naturally also applies to public figures.

Spamming

Please use Walby exclusively for all topics related to social, ecological and cultural issues, as these have a positive impact on our planet and/or fellow human beings. Please do not spam Walby with drops that are not related to these topics.

We are counting on your help here so that Walby can remain the special place that it is.

Groups

Private groups that deal with a specific topic may not be filled with off-topic content. If users want to discuss another topic, they can go to a corresponding group or create a new one. The following applies: All Walby usage rules must also be followed within private groups.

Commercial advertising and content from third-party providers

Walby users agree not to publish advertisements for commercial products or services that have not been approved in writing by Team Walby in the app and/or on the associated websites.

Sharing copyrighted content on Walby is prohibited.

Illegal content

The promotion of illegal activities, content and meetings are not permitted on Walby and will be reported to the appropriate authorities or prosecuted.

Discrimination

There is no room for discrimination on Walby, neither against individuals nor groups of people. Users who do not accept the opinions, origin, religion, appearance, sexual orientation, gender identity or disabilities of others as 100% equal have no place on Walby. Please always bear in mind that although the internet is a virtual space, real people are nevertheless communicating here, which is why respectful and polite interaction is of the utmost importance – here and everywhere.

So let me be very clear: Walby does not accept any form of racism, sexism, right-wing extremism, exclusion or attacks on individuals/groups. It’s as simple as that.

Sexual harassment, intrusive and disruptive behavior

All kinds of intrusive behavior as well as (sexual) harassment, threats and calls for violence have no place on Walby. All this applies to people and groups of people in our community (…and please also outside!!), because this behavior does not correspond to our values and interferes with respectful interaction with one another.

Amorous requests also count as intrusive behavior, because we are not a dating app.

Content and depictions of violence and sexualized violence

Any depiction of violence, pornographic or sexual content or vulgar language has no place on Walby; it simply does not fit here. Threats, insults and the dissemination of misinformation can be prosecuted; they don’t fit anywhere.

Please report unauthorized content to us immediately so that this remains a safe and pleasant place.

Report

In the event that you as a user notice content that violates our guidelines, please report it urgently. It is extremely important for us that a reason for reporting is given so that we can take appropriate action. We thank you very much for your cooperation in this regard!

However, please bear in mind: In the interests of fairness, it is very important that only content that actually violates the guidelines is reported and not simply content that does not suit personal taste.

Pictures and videos of people

Please respect the privacy and image rights of others so that Walby remains a safe and enjoyable community for everyone.

Pictures taken in public places can generally be used without any problems. Images may be uploaded if you took the image yourself or hold the rights to the image for other reasons or if you have been granted permission to use the image by the copyright holder.

As soon as people are recognizable in the picture, it is a little more complicated – but only a little: The people depicted must have given their consent not only for the photo to be taken, but also for it to be published on this platform. So it’s actually quite simple.

And for all those who really want to know exactly, we have compiled our even more detailed much more detailed (…yes, you can!) data protection information and terms of use:

So, you’ve made it! It’s great that you’ve taken the time to learn the ropes and can now navigate Walby’s various tools and features and the community with confidence, safety and freedom.

So let’s get going! Whether you’re campaigning in down-to-earth Cologne, hip Berlin or somewhere in Papua New Guinea – we wish you great inspiration for your commitment, lots of success and lots of fun with our new app!

Your Julia for Team Walby
